The 5 Star Difference
A Better Home Inspection Experience
At 5 Star Building Inspections, we believe a thorough inspection should not require buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals to spend most of the day at the property. That is why we work differently.
Instead of relying on a single inspector for every property, 5 Star works in teams. For larger homes and luxury properties, we may send three to five experienced inspectors who work together to evaluate the home efficiently and thoroughly. Our team approach allows us to provide the detailed inspection our clients expect while often completing the inspection in significantly less time.
More inspectors. Less waiting. The same thorough 5 Star inspection.
We Work in Teams to Save You Time
A traditional home inspection may involve one inspector working through a large property for several hours. On bigger homes, that can mean a long day for everyone involved.
Our inspectors divide the property into different systems and areas, allowing multiple portions of the inspection to be completed at the same time.
This approach can help:
-
Reduce the amount of time spent at the property
-
Make inspections more convenient for buyers and sellers
-
Reduce disruption for occupied homes
-
Help real estate professionals keep their schedules moving
-
Allow our inspectors to collaborate on unusual or complex findings
-
Provide additional experience and perspective on larger properties
Efficiency does not mean rushing. Our team approach is designed to make the inspection both thorough and efficient.
More Scheduling Flexibility
Having multiple experienced inspectors also gives 5 Star greater flexibility when scheduling inspections throughout Central Florida. Real estate transactions often move quickly, and inspection periods can be short. Buyers may need an inspection within only a few days, while agents are coordinating sellers, contractors, appraisers, and closing deadlines.
Because we work as a team, we can often accommodate inspection schedules that would be difficult for a single-inspector company. Our goal is to make scheduling your inspection as convenient as possible while still providing the quality and attention to detail your property deserves.
Built for Large and Luxury Homes
Large and luxury properties require a different approach.
These homes may include:
-
Multiple HVAC systems
-
Large electrical systems
-
Multiple water heaters
-
Pools and spas
-
Outdoor kitchens
-
Guest houses
-
Elevators
-
Specialty roofing materials
-
Advanced lighting and electrical controls
-
Large attics and multiple roof sections
-
Extensive plumbing systems
-
Custom finishes and specialty components
Sending one inspector through a large luxury home can result in an inspection that takes most of the day.
For larger properties, 5 Star may send a team of three to five inspectors, allowing us to evaluate multiple systems simultaneously and significantly reduce the amount of time required at the home.
This is especially valuable for luxury buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals who expect a detailed inspection without unnecessary disruption. Large and luxury homes require more than simply adding another inspector to the appointment. They require a team that is designed to work together.
At 5 Star Building Inspections, our inspection teams are structured specifically for larger and more complex properties. Each inspector works as part of a coordinated team, dividing the home by systems and areas while communicating throughout the inspection to make sure the property is evaluated thoroughly and efficiently.
Some inspection companies may occasionally place two inspectors on the same home, but that does not necessarily mean they are working as a true inspection team. 5 Star’s team approach is built into the way we inspect larger and luxury homes. Our inspectors are accustomed to working together, sharing findings, and combining their experience to produce one complete, organized inspection.
One coordinated team. One complete inspection. Less time at the home without sacrificing thoroughness.
Experience You Can Rely On
Technology is important, but experience is what allows an inspector to understand what that technology is showing. With more than three decades of combined experience and over 17,000 inspections completed, the 5 Star team has evaluated homes of nearly every age, size, construction type, and condition found throughout Central Florida.
That experience helps us recognize problems that may be overlooked by less experienced inspectors and clearly explain which findings deserve immediate attention and which are routine maintenance items.
Thermal Imaging on Every Inspection
Infrared thermal imaging is included with every 5 Star home inspection.
Thermal cameras allow our inspectors to identify temperature differences that may indicate conditions not readily visible during a standard visual inspection.
Thermal imaging may help identify:
-
Potential moisture intrusion
-
Missing or inconsistent insulation
-
Overheating electrical components
-
HVAC performance concerns
-
Temperature anomalies within walls and ceilings
Thermal imaging does not replace a professional inspection, but it gives our inspectors another valuable tool to help evaluate the property.

Drone Roof Inspections
Some roofs cannot be safely or properly walked.
Tile roofs, steep slopes, multi-story homes, and certain roof conditions can make physical access difficult or create a risk of damaging the roof covering.
When appropriate, 5 Star uses drone technology to inspect and document roof areas that may otherwise be difficult to access. High-resolution aerial imagery can help our inspectors identify visible roof defects while also providing clients with valuable photographic documentation of the roof.

Crawlspace Technology
Not every crawlspace is easily accessible. Low clearances, obstacles, moisture, and other conditions can prevent an inspector from physically entering certain areas beneath a home.
Our crawlspace inspection robot allows us to evaluate areas that might otherwise remain unseen. Equipped with four-wheel drive, suspension, lighting, and a camera that streams video back to the inspector in real time, the system provides another way for our team to investigate difficult-to-access spaces.
We invest in inspection technology because the areas that are hardest to reach can sometimes contain the most important findings.

Same-Day, Photo-Documented Reports You Can See Before You Hire Us
We’re proud of the quality, detail, and clarity of our inspection reports, which is why we’re happy to let you see a sample report before you hire us. Our reports are fully photo-documented, easy to navigate, and designed to clearly separate major concerns, safety issues, recommended repairs, and routine maintenance items.
Your inspection report is one of the most important parts of the service you’re paying for. Before choosing a home inspector, ask to see a sample of their work. Are they as willing to show you their reports as we are?
At 5 Star Building Inspections, we believe our work should speak for itself.
